Belly dancers add spice to Hafan Gwydir cruise night

A ‘culinary cruise’ taking tenants at a Llanrwst housing scheme on a journey of flavours around the Mediterranean, reached its final port of call in Morocco recently with added spice to the menu and entertainment provided by a troupe of belly dancers.

“We’ve had a wonderful time, thanks to the creativity of the catering team who have provided us with a feast of flavours,” said Tom Roberts, Manager of Clwyd Alyn Housing Association’s Hafan Gwydir extra care housing scheme in Old School Road, Llanrwst.

“We’ve had social nights with themed menus and entertainment based on cuisine from France, Spain and Itally with our final port of call in Morocco to add some spice as the winter nights drew in.

“Our final meal certainly came with some surprises as the menu of chicken tagine, Moroccan Kefta, Meshouta Cake and baked figs with honey, was topped off with entertainment from the Bangor-based Schimilicious Belly Dance
Group.

“All that remains now of our ‘virtual’ cruise is a sail-away cocktail party in time for our festive celebrations. It’s been a lot of fun,” Tom added thanking the Hafan Gwydir catering team for all their hard work.
